38th Zihuatanejo International Sailfish Fishing Tournament

The Zihuatanejo International Fishing Tournament is coming up! Edition #38 will take place from May 5 to 8, 2023. With hundreds of national and international participants, this tournament celebrates with more and more activities for locals and visitors.

It was in 1963 when the Teniente Jose Azueta Cooperative Society was founded and a few years later they organized the first tournament with the aim of creating a quality, sustainable event and also creating a source of income for tourism service providers.

The Zihuatanejo International Sailfish Fishing Tournament is the second most important nationwide and there are records of a sailfish weighing up to 43 kg; In this tournament, marlin and dorado are also caught. The start will be on May 5 at 8am and at 3pm the weigh-in takes place at the Zihuatanejo pier.

Thus, this 2023 in its 38th edition comes with great participation, there will be a party for everyone with live regional music on the esplanade of the Zihuatanejo pier from 1pm, food, drinks and exhibitions of well-known brand equipment.
