The Barra de Potosí ecosystem is recognized because is home of more of 212 wild bird species, some of them endangered. The biodiversity of Barra de Potosi, with aproximately 800 hectares in total, contains 454 hectares of mangrove swamp, and has a rock formation known as “Los Morros de Potosí”, where more than 10 thousand seasonal birds rest and make nests.

In addition, 180 species of butterflies have been detected. In the ocean, you will find  whale families, dolphins, sea turtles, and much more.
