Sea Turtle Preservation & Release Ixtapa Zihuatanejo

The sea turtle, despite millions of years of existence and being such an important part of the ecosystem, encounters different threats to its reproduction. Due to this, in Zihuatanejo there are places that strive to preserve them.

The species that abound in this area are: Leatherback, Prieta and Golfina, which nest from the island of Ixtapa to Playa Blanca Zihuatanejo along the entire coast. The releases usually take place between August and March of each year.
